The Ways of the Master
When Jesus gave the gospel did He ask the people about their sin?
Does the scripture call out one who will convict of sin?
The Holy Spirit
John 16:8-11 Are we his agents? or can we count on him to do his job? and we spread - eu angellion - the good news.
The Holy Spirit convicts:
Of sin, because they believe not in Jesus
of righteousness, God, and Jesus, alone is good. We can only share in his.
of condemnation(of judgment, the prince of this world is judged(condemned)).
Mark 1:15The time is fulfilled the kingdom of God is at hand Metanoeo repent change your attitude change your thinking,
your mind (nous) set and believe the good news
One of the ways people come to faith in Christ is through fear of the penalty for their sins. To point out that they are
sinners and worthy of condemnation, therefore in need of a saviour, might bring them to saving faith in Christ. Some will
reject God with this approach.
Some have a guilty conscience and want relief from it’s torment.
These will choose Christ for forgiveness and cleansing and the cleansing of conscience. New Man = New Conscience.
Reach them by appealling to their need of cleansing from sin they are already too painfully aware of. Jesus' blood
is the cleansing agent, do not let immature Christians hear you urging others to be washed in the blood. Immature Christians
are ashamed of Jesus' blood and ignorant of the means of their salvation. Only ask if someone has trusted in Jesus'
blood to wash away their sins when you have privacy from uninformed believers L22;4 J6;53-6

Some are impressed with God the creator of the beautiful world-heavens and earth. They just want to be associated and rightfully
aligned with the creator/father. They just need to be convinced that Jesus truly is creator of heaven and earth. They will
go right along with God’s plan of salvation and spiritual growth. They will simply agree they are sinners. There is
no need to answer an objection before it is given. Even when the rich young ruler claimed to have kept all the commandments.
Jesus did not counter his claim, but, rather, Jesus loved him and changed the topic from sins and commandments to relative
vs. absolute righteousness one thing you lack, sell all you have and give to the poor and follow me.
Many will respond to the beauty of the divine redemptive story. The wayward steps of mankind. The love and self sacrifice
of Christ. The love of the father. The supportive Holy Spirit. They go positive here and accept Christ as saviour to align
with so beautiful a story and so wonderful the plan of the ages.
Imagine approaching this person like this asking: Have you ever sinned?
Are you a sinner? Have you ever stolen, ever lied, ever looked on someone with lust? By your own admission you are a sinful
thief and adulterer. Too hell with you unless you accept Jesus. If this approach fits everyone, then
Guilty consciences, Divine redemptive stories, The lovely attractive heroic intelligent debater Jesus, The glory of creation,
The grandeur of the historic sweep of Christ’s forbears, The epic battle into which we are recruited between the
adversary and our heroic king in which we have a part to play, The story of the nation of Israel past, present and future.
Do not all these lure one to saving faith in Christ. Can we not at least for some assume they are already weighted down with
the guilty load of sin. Now we need to find the incentive God gave us to use as evangelists, the one which will turn-on the
lost soul before us. Why, God even has an incentive for the political patriotic soul in the way he dealt with the nation of
Israel in the past as well as how he has dealt with nations that aligned with him including our own.
Now I am at risk of starting a third book while as yet I have completed none.
A person may already be convicted of his sin, and still choose to do nothing, preferring pleasure of sin now to nebulous
afterlife too far away to worry about. They may however want to be clean of their smirch and will succumb to Isaiah 1:18,
White as snow, as wool, thou your sins be as scarlet, God will wash those sins away. If we offer Jesus, his blood the cleanser
of our sins, even if they think they are sinless, the holy spirit will convict them of sin.
They may respond to the King who died for them and rose again and sends His Spirit from Glory to call them to bond with
him forever to join-to associate. A whole personality type is founded upon this associate principle. No adversarial logic
approach will work on him.
Then we have the melancholy type, He will join God in finding fault and confess the universal need of a saviour. He also
responds to the music God uses in worship and invitation and as a spiritual outlet for him. Music has a place in evangelistic
The go getters appreciate a god who sent the son to go and get the world. The go getters appreciate the son who launched
a movement to get the world for God. A Spirit who motivates and invigorates with fresh new plans and ideas and missions.
The funloving popular types need Christ and the Spirit to heal their wounds to invigorate them with health and vitality
for more sports and activities. These may be ripest for a Kirk Cameron TBN Way of the Master approach. Any stop them and get
them to think approach should also work as well.
